Merid & Magna are located 40 minute drive west of Kindersley Saskatchewan and 25 minute drive east of Oyen Alberta and one mile north of Highway 7. We are close to half way between Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Calgary, Alberta. Nestled on 2.3 acres of wide open prairie in the serene and charmingly rural setting of Merid, these two historic one room schools, lovingly known as ‘The Prairie Sisters’ have been fully restored and redesigned with a wistful, country-chic ambiance.
MERID 1912
Originally constructed in 1912, this 1200 sf one room school now turned into an intimate event venue/B&B is all that remains in what used to be the village of Merid. It can accommodate up to 70 guests depending on the event. Tables and chairs are available. Upstairs, it has been reimagined into a fresh, bright, open space with massive vaulted ceilings, exposed original brick chimney and many large windows overlooking the peaceful prairie landscape.

MAGNA BONUM 1911
Originally constructed in 1911, Magna Bonum School is a romantic 700 sf open concept retreat. It has been reimagined into a bright, cheerful space with massive vaulted ceilings and original beams. Cozy up to the fireplace, read a book or play a game of cards. Magna is all about peace, quiet, and calm.

Enjoy sitting on your private deck around your fire table while you enjoy a peaceful evening wrapped up in a vintage quilt. Stargaze and watch for the spectacular northern lights in the uninterrupted prairie skies.

This lovingly restored school turned elegant farmhouse retreat has a full kitchenette, comfortable furniture, room for 4 to sleep, a pretty washroom with a walk-in rain-shower, and assorted games and books.
STAY COZY
Whether you’re on your honey moon or having a ladies weekend, Magna offers a gas fireplace for cooler evenings and all the hook-ups for a movie night. Dim the lights for a cozy evening.
Our wedding package
Exclusive use of the entire property (2.3 acres) for up to 70 guests. This package includes both schools and their associated accommodations for up to 10 guests. (Magna Bonum School will be an ideal Bridal/Honeymoon suite and the lower level of Merid School is perfect for the groom/groomsmen).
Horse bed & bale
Available from June 1 - October 31
$20 per animal
We have pens with shelter and bedding available for your horse (or other animals that would remain in a corral system) with automated water troughs. These are located just a short distance from the schools.
